Back in the early part of my career, I took a one-day temp assignment with a group insurance carrier. That one day turned into fifteen years, and it was where I learned something that has shaped the way I work ever since: the most useful thing you can do for someone trying to make a financial decision is help them understand it, not make it for them.
Through a career that started in group insurance and eventually moved to the individual financial planning side, my approach has stayed consistent. I want to understand where someone is and what they're working toward before I offer any kind of recommendation. From there, we go through the options together, talk through what each one means, and work toward something that actually fits their life.
I was born and raised in Southern California and now live in O'Fallon, Illinois, with my wife Jennifer, our son Jacob, and our daughter Jaidyn. Outside of work, you'll usually find me at the gym, watching sports, or out fishing.
